]]> Well alright then! Although I made my channel on September 9th, 2011, I became a YouTuber on March 5th with the start of my Caesar 3 videos and regular uploads. 1 year later I have 3,000 subscribers and over half a million total views. I have completely surpassed my target goals for the last year and my goals over the next are to reach a level where I can live off of YouTube and go into it full time. By my calculations, I would roughly need 15,000 subscribers to do that, which is way, way, way higher than where I am now. Though if my hypothesis of how the rich get richer on YouTube is true, and that I surpassed my goals last year, maybe it will be possible, though it’s all up to you guys anyway! All I can do is try to be the best I can and continue to create interesting and entertaining content for you guys. I couldn’t have kept going if it wasn’t for all of you awesome people veraciously commenting and demanding for more. So thank you all for your support and, with luck, I’ll be able to continue providing you with better and better content.

Now, for any of you who are still struggling to grow your own YouTube channel, or if you were thinking about starting one, I made a video vlog of what I’ve learnt over the past year. I can guarantee that you won’t find this advice anywhere else, as it’s some insights that I’ve thought of and never seen elsewhere. Plus, it’s my advice, and as far as I know there’s only 1 me =)

Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you in the next blog post!

]]> My target for last year (2012) was 1000 subscribers. I hit it on the 13th of November and a large celebration was held with a multitude of special videos! The big video I made for that is the lovely Gaming is Awesome video you’ll find on the home page.

March 5th is my YouTube birthday, and I wanted to hit 2000 by then. I was actually behind schedule up until last Saturday (9th Feb) when, for some strange reason, my Morrowind videos started getting a lot of attention. Episode 1 has become my most viewed video with almost 20,000 views and 340 likes with only 4 dislikes.

Growth rates are understandably exponential — the rich get richer after all — but this is a particularly unexpected spike. Let me just show you the graph.

Since that Saturday, my daily subs has grown from 5-10 a day to 30-60 a day. THAT IS INSANE! I don’t know if this can continue and maybe the attention will fizzle, dropping me back to my normal sub rate. Regardless, I’ve hit my target way before my schedule and it makes me feel like all my hard work is really being appreciated. I thank you all for giving me a little bit of your attention and I hope I can continue to entertain and inform you.

Meanwhile, here is my 2000 sub video:

Hope you enjoyed that ಠ_ಠ

I’ll see you in the next video!
